IMPORTANT; Please read all the instructions in order to enjoy the wood stove safely.
NEVER LEAVE THE WOOD STOVE UNATTENDED
KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED AND LATCHED. IF YOU DON’T LATCH THE DOOR, WIND CAN PUSH IT OPEN.
DO NOT POUR WATER OR OTHER LIQUID IN THE WOOD STOVE TO PUT IT OUT. WATER WILL RUIN THE STOVE.
DO NOT BURN TRASH, YARD DEBRIS OR DRIFTWOOD
• ONLY USE THE WOOD PROVIDED
The wood provided has been kiln-dried and cut to a specific size for use in this wood stove. Please don’t use this wood in the outdoor fire pit or take it to the beach. Wood for the fire pit or beach can be purchased at either of the local grocery stores.
• ChECK THE ASH LEVEL
Periodically checking the ash level helps maintain a healthy fire. This step may not always be needed. Only handle the ash when the fireplace hasn’t been used for awhile and the ash is cold.
Having a small layer of ash in the ash tray is beneficial for a good burning fire, so you do not need to completely empty the tray.
Note the location of the ash tray below. Scoop ash using the shovel provided and place into the ash can located behind the wood stove. Make sure the lid is put back on tightly. If the ash can is full, you can take it outside and pour the ash into a trash bag and place into the outdoor bin. Only do this if the ash is cold. Note: coals from a fireplace can smolder for days inside the can so make sure they are out.
• open flu
Make sure the silver stainless steel lever is pushed to the right. This allows maximum airflow into the wood stove.
• Place logs, kindling and firestarter stick
Place 2 logs as shown
• place kindling in between logs as shown
• place FIRESTARTER STICK ON TOP AS SHOWN
• LIGHT FIRESTARTER STICK
Use the lighter provided and light the firestarter stick. Once lit, close the door but leave it cracked about an inch to let air in. Do not leave the fire unattended. Keep an eye on it to make sure it catches fire and proceed to the next step.
• ADD ANOTHER LOG
Once the fire seems lit and burning nicely, add a log on top and close the door completely, making sure the handle is latched.
• ADD LOGS AS NEEDED
If you want to add more logs, use the mitt to open the door as it may be hot and add a log using the tongs provided. Open the door slowly as to not pull ash out of the stove. After adding the log, make sure to close the door completely.
